A Literature Review of Glutathione Therapy in Ameliorating Hepatic Dysfunction in Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease.

Summary: Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is a common liver problem that can lead to serious damage over time. Right now, doctors do not have many medicines to treat it. However, a powerful antioxidant called glutathione might help. This review looked at studies from the past ten years and found that glutathione helped lower liver damage and stress in patients. While the results are very promising, the studies were small, involving only 109 people in total. Doctors need to do larger studies to figure out the best dose and make sure it works well for everyone over a long time.
