A rare twist in ohvira syndrome: When menstrual blood takes an unusual route: A case report.

Summary: Imagine having a double uterus, but one side is completely blocked off. That is a very rare condition called OHVIRA syndrome. A 20-year-old woman went to her doctor because she had terrible period cramps and unusual bleeding near her bottom every month. At first, doctors were confused by her ultrasound scan. But when they checked her again during her period, they found a hidden tunnel (called a fistula) that was letting the trapped blood escape. An MRI scan proved she had a blocked second uterus and was missing her left kidney. The doctors offered her surgery to fix the problem, but she decided not to get the treatment. This story shows why doctors must look very closely when young women have unusual pelvic pain and missing kidneys.
