A Real U.S. Marshal Fact-Checks CBS’s Marshals
Summary: CBS has a huge hit show called Marshals, a spin-off of Yellowstone starring Luke Grimes. But how real is it? A retired real-life U.S. Marshal, Larry Homenick, says the show is mostly a fun fantasy.
On TV, the main character gets into wild shootouts every week and hangs out in an office that looks like a frat house. In reality, Homenick worked for 28 years and never fired his gun once! Real Marshals deal with a lot of paperwork and rules. Also, TV actors are usually tall and rugged, while Homenick jokes that he is only 5-foot-8. However, he admits that real Marshals do actually ride horses sometimes in wild places like Montana. Even though the show is fake, he loves that it makes his old job look cool.
