A Review of Online Search Tools to Identify Funded Dermatology Away Rotations for Underrepresented Medical Students.
Summary: Medical students who want to become skin doctors (dermatologists) usually have to work at different hospitals for a short time. This is called an "away rotation." Traveling for these can cost a lot of money. There are special programs that help pay these costs for students from groups that are often left out of medicine. But, it is very hard to find these programs online! Researchers looked at special search tools and Google to see if they helped. They found that the search tools missed most of the paying programs. We really need one good, easy-to-use website so all students have a fair chance to find these helpful programs.
