A systematic review of the impact of Elexacaftor/Tezacaftor/Ivacaftor on body composition in people with cystic fibrosis.

Summary: A new medicine called ETI is helping people with cystic fibrosis live longer and breathe much better. Because they are healthier, patients are also gaining weight. Doctors looked at five different studies with 185 patients to see exactly what kind of weight they were gaining. They found that patients mostly gained body fat. While some patients gained healthy muscle, others actually lost muscle. This shows that while the medicine helps people get heavier, doctors need to pay attention to make sure patients are gaining strong muscle, not just fat.
