Acute Duodenal Ulcer Perforation Following Tirzepatide Treatment: A Case Report.

Summary: A 36-year-old man with type 2 diabetes was taking a diabetes and weight-loss medicine called semaglutide, but it stopped working well for him. His doctor switched him to a newer medicine called tirzepatide. Soon after his doctor raised his dose, he got very sick with a bad stomach ache and throwing up. He rushed to the emergency room, where doctors took pictures of his insides and found a hole in his lower stomach area (an ulcer that popped open). He had to have emergency surgery to fix it. This story shows that doctors and patients should watch out for severe stomach pain when using these kinds of medicines.
