Adenomyosis Independently Increases Risk for Endometrial Proliferative Disorders
Summary: A recent study found that adenomyosis—a condition where the lining of the uterus grows deep into its muscle wall—increases the risk of abnormal cell growth in the uterus. Researchers looked at 734 patients and found that those with adenomyosis had a much higher chance of developing conditions that can sometimes lead to endometrial cancer. Other risk factors include obesity, going through menopause, and never having children. This means doctors should keep a closer eye on patients with adenomyosis to catch any abnormal changes early.
