Advisory Councils

Summary: SAMHSA is a government group that wants to help people who face mental health and substance use challenges. To do their best work, they don't just guess what people need. Instead, they use special advisory councils. These councils are made up of everyday people and health experts who give SAMHSA advice. There are nine different committees, focusing on things like women's services, tribal needs, drug testing, and serious mental illness. Their main goal is to help people get the care they need, recover, and live healthy, happy lives.
