An Extended VIIRS-like Artificial Nighttime Light Data Reconstruction (1986-2024).

Summary: Scientists use pictures of city lights at night taken from space to see where people live and work. But really good pictures only go back to the year 2012. Older pictures are often blurry or too dark. To fix this, researchers made a smart computer program to clear up the old pictures. Now, they have a great set of bright, clear night light maps for China from 1986 all the way to 2024! This helps us understand how cities have grown over a long time.
