Arthroscopic treatment of calcifying tendinitis of the shoulder: clinical and structural long-term results.

Summary: Imagine having painful chunks of calcium stuck in your shoulder tendons. Ouch! Doctors can use a tiny camera and special tools (a procedure called arthroscopy) to clean out these hard deposits. But does this actually fix the shoulder for good?

Researchers checked on 30 patients about 14 years after they had this surgery. The great news? The patients still felt excellent! They had very little pain, their shoulders worked beautifully, and MRI scans showed their tendons were still healthy with no major tears. This proves that cleaning out the calcium is a fantastic, long-lasting fix for shoulder pain.
