Asymmetric synthesis of C-N axially chiral carbazoles
Summary: Scientists have found a new way to make special molecules called carbazoles. These molecules have a unique twisted shape, like a spiral staircase. To make them, the researchers started with a different twisted molecule and used a chemical reaction to pass the twisty shape onto the new one. They were able to do this very accurately, keeping the exact shape right up to 91% of the time. They also studied exactly how this shape-shifting process works in the lab.
