Attachment Style During a Partner's Deployment with the United States Navy: Associations with Relational Satisfaction, Stress, and Changes over Time.
Summary: When a partner goes away on a military ship, it can be very hard and stressful. This study looked at how people feel when their Navy partner is deployed. People who feel secure in their love are happier and less stressed. People who worry a lot or fear losing their partner feel more stress and less happiness. The study also found a great way to help! Writing letters to their partner made people feel less worried and less afraid. Writing sweet things, or even just normal updates, helped them feel more secure while their partner was far away.
