BCM collaborates with Baylor Scott & White Health and Temple ISD to create STEM+M program

Summary: Baylor College of Medicine is teaming up with Baylor Scott & White Health and Temple Independent School District to create an exciting new program for high school students. It is called STEM+M, which stands for science, technology, engineering, math, and medicine. Starting in the 2026-2027 school year, students will get hands-on training to prepare for careers in healthcare.

Freshmen and sophomores will do fun extracurricular activities to learn about different medical jobs. Then, juniors and seniors will actually get to shadow real doctors and tour medical labs at Baylor Scott & White locations! This program is designed to help students build confidence and create a strong local pipeline of future healthcare workers. Similar programs are already running successfully in other Texas school districts like Houston, Midland, and Corpus Christi.
