Behavior Change Isn't a Willpower Problem
Summary: Ever wonder why you skip a workout or eat three pieces of candy at midnight? It is not because you lack willpower! Your brain works like a computer system. If you are tired, stressed, or the candy is right in front of you, your system will naturally choose the easy thing.
Motivation goes up and down every day, just like water in a tank. To change your habits, you do not need to try harder. You just need to change your setup. Move the candy out of sight to make it harder to reach. Make your workout shorter so it takes less motivation to start. Figure out what is draining your motivation tank today, and fix that specific leak!
