Brownville-Glen Park Elementary School celebrates heart-healthy challenge with new recess equipment
Summary: Only 1 in 4 kids in the U.S. gets enough daily exercise. To help fix this, Brownville-Glen Park Elementary School joined the Kids Heart Challenge, a program run by the American Heart Association. The students worked hard and raised over $1,300! Because they did such a great job, the school received brand-new recess and gym equipment from a program called Recess Reboot, sponsored by Knowlton Technologies.
Science shows that active kids grow up to be healthier adults. Exercise also helps kids get better grades, feel happier, and lower their chances of dealing with anxiety and depression. Now, these students have the fun tools they need to stay active and build healthy habits for life.
