Summary: The FDA just gave the green light to a powerful new treatment combo for clear cell kidney cancer. After a patient has surgery to remove their kidney, there is often a worry that the cancer might come back. Now, doctors can use two drugs together—belzutifan and pembrolizumab—to help stop the cancer from returning. In a major study, patients taking this tag-team combo had a much better chance of staying disease-free. In fact, after two years, over 80% of patients on the new combo were still cancer-free.
