<![CDATA[Pembrolizumab Demonstrates Durable EFS and OS Benefit in High-Risk TNBC]]>
Summary: Great news for patients with high-risk, early-stage triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC)! A nearly 8-year study called KEYNOTE-522 shows that adding the immunotherapy drug pembrolizumab to standard chemotherapy helps patients live longer and stay cancer-free.
At the 7-year mark, 85% of patients who took pembrolizumab were still alive, compared to 77% of those who received a placebo. It also significantly lowered the chance of the cancer coming back or spreading. While there are some manageable side effects, like thyroid issues, the long-term survival benefits make this a powerful, life-saving standard treatment option for women fighting TNBC.
