<![CDATA[Unpaid labor and the midlife female experience]]>

Summary: A new report shows that women in the U.S. do most of the unpaid care for older adults. This takes a huge toll on their physical health, mental well-being, and bank accounts. The average caregiver in this study is a 52-year-old woman. These women are part of the "sandwich generation." This means they are stuck in the middle, caring for their own kids while also taking care of their aging parents.

Experts say this creates a double dose of stress. Because there is very little outside help, many working moms feel like they are failing. But experts remind us that they are just trying to do an impossible job without enough support.
