<![CDATA[What the Walgreens ‘Hybrid Pharmacist’ Role is Doing for Workforces Challenges]]>

Summary: Pharmacy workers are feeling burned out and overworked. To help fix this problem, Walgreens is testing a brand-new "hybrid pharmacist" job. In this new role, pharmacists get to split their time. Some days they work in a regular community pharmacy, and other days they work on clinical services from a central, remote location.

This mix gives pharmacists a much better work-life balance. Right now, the program is being tested in six states, including Arkansas, Missouri, and Tennessee. So far, the pharmacists trying it out love it! Walgreens hopes this creative idea will help solve staffing shortages and change how pharmacy careers look in the future.
