Clinical Challenge: Brown Papule on Arm

Summary: A 57-year-old woman noticed a dark brown, waxy spot on her arm that looked like it was "stuck on." It turned out to be a seborrheic keratosis (SK). SKs are very common, harmless skin growths that happen more often as people get older. They are not cancer and usually do not need treatment unless they get itchy or irritated from clothes rubbing against them. If they need to be removed, doctors can freeze or scrape them off.
