Common phrases in your GP record explained

Summary: Have you ever looked at your doctor's notes and felt confused or worried? Medical records use formal words to keep things clear for healthcare workers, not to scare you. For example, "suspected" just means the doctor is guessing and needs more tests. "Chronic" means a condition lasts a long time, not that it is severe. "Patient declined" simply means you chose not to get a certain treatment. If you see "DNA," it just means you "Did Not Attend" an appointment. Don't panic over the medical jargon!
