Comparison of 2 Techniques for Removal of Displaced Root Fragments From the Mandibular Canal in Canine Cadavers.

Summary: Pulling a tooth is a very common procedure for both humans and pets. Sometimes, a piece of the tooth root breaks off and falls deep into the jaw bone. This can cause a lot of pain and infection, so the broken piece needs to come out. Doctors haven't studied the best way to do this yet. This study looks at dog jaws to test two different ways to safely remove these lost tooth pieces, borrowing ideas from human dental surgeries.
