Comparison of i-gel®, Ambu® AuraGain™, Baska Mask, LMA® Protector™ for airway management of obese surgical patients - A randomised comparative study.

Summary: When obese patients need surgery, doctors use special breathing tubes to keep their airways open while they sleep. But which tube is the best? Researchers tested four different breathing devices on 154 obese patients to see which one sealed the airway tightest. They found that a device called the "Baska mask" had the strongest seal. However, the other three devices (I-gel, Ambu AuraGain, and LMA Protector) also worked very well. The good news is that doctors have several safe and reliable choices to help obese patients breathe easily during surgery!
