Comparison of Two Auditory-Perceptual Evaluation Indexes, CAPE-V and GRBAS (Machine Learning), in Patients With Parkinson's Disease.

Summary: People with Parkinson's disease often have trouble with their voice. Doctors need good tools to check this early on. A new study looked at two ways to test voice problems: a computer app called GRBASZero and a test done by speech experts called CAPE-V. The study tested 44 patients. It found that the expert test (CAPE-V) is much better at catching voice problems at all stages, especially early on. The computer app only noticed problems when the disease was already worse. So, having an expert check the voice is still the best way to help patients early.
