Conclusiveness of Cochrane systematic reviews is low but accumulating across time in physical therapy: A meta-research study.
Summary: Have you ever read a medical study hoping for a clear answer, only to be told "we need more research"? This happens a lot in physical therapy. Researchers looked at 200 large review studies over 20 years to see how many gave a clear, certain answer about whether a treatment works. The result? Only 3 out of 100 reviews gave a highly certain answer! Most studies had low or very low certainty. The good news is that scientists are doing more studies overall. Because of this, the total number of clear answers is slowly growing, even though the percentage stays low.
