Cumulative plaque burden analysis for phenotyping epicardial coronary artery disease.

Summary: Imagine your heart's blood vessels are like pipes in a house. Sometimes, gunk (called plaque) builds up inside them, making it hard for blood to flow. Doctors usually look at small parts of these pipes using a special ultrasound camera. But now, using clever computer programs (AI), they can look at the whole pipe at once!

The researchers created a new score to measure how much gunk is spread out across the whole vessel. A lower score means the gunk is spread all over, which means the disease is worse and longer stents (tiny wire tubes) are needed to fix it. This new AI tool helps doctors see the big picture much better than just looking with their own eyes, changing how they plan treatments for over half the patients!
