Dental Flossing Linked to Reduced Risk for Incident Stroke
Summary: Did you know that taking care of your teeth could actually protect your brain? A recent study found that people who floss regularly have a much lower risk of having a stroke. Researchers looked at over 6,000 adults for more than 20 years. They discovered that the flossers had fewer strokes, especially the kind caused by blood clots from the heart. Flossing also helped lower the chance of getting an irregular heartbeat, known as atrial fibrillation. So, taking an extra minute to floss your teeth every day might just save your life!
