Dental imaging in Singapore: a survey of 2D radiographic techniques and CBCT practices.
Summary: Dentists use X-rays to see our teeth and jawbones. In Singapore, a recent survey asked dentists how they take these pictures. Most dentists use digital X-rays, which is great! But many still use round X-ray beams instead of the safer rectangular ones. Also, many dentists use 3D X-rays (called CBCT) to plan for things like dental implants. However, less than half of them have had special training to use the 3D machines. The survey shows that dentists want more training to take better pictures and keep patients safe from extra radiation.
