Development and validation of the oral management self-efficacy scale (OMSES): a cross-sectional psychometric study in adult patients with fixed orthodontic appliances.

Summary: Getting braces as an adult can be tough. You have to clean your teeth really well and watch what you eat. Doctors wanted to know how confident adults feel about taking care of their teeth with braces. So, they made a new test called the Oral Management Self-Efficacy Scale (OMSES). They asked over 500 adults with braces to take it. The test looks at four important things: getting help, cleaning teeth, eating right, and having a good attitude. The results showed that the test works perfectly. Now, dentists can use it to help adults take better care of their smiles!
