Development of a brief telehealth-delivered counseling intervention to reduce suicide risk and improve HIV care engagement in Kilimanjaro, Tanzania.

Summary: People living with HIV in Tanzania face a lot of stress, stigma, and lack of support. Sadly, this can lead to thoughts of suicide. Right now, standard HIV care doesn't check for these feelings or offer help. To fix this, researchers created a program called "IDEAS for Hope." It is a short counseling program led by nurses over a video call. It has three sessions that help patients live healthy, handle stigma, find friends, and solve problems. The goal is to build hope, keep patients in care, and stop suicide.
