Development of the Lee Symptom Scale-Skin Sclerosis for chronic GVHD-associated sclerosis.

Summary: Imagine surviving a bone marrow transplant, only to face a new challenge: your skin becomes hard, tight, and painful. This condition, called sclerosis, happens in a disease known as chronic GVHD. It can make moving and everyday life very difficult. Doctors wanted to create a new survey to help measure exactly how patients feel, so they can test better treatments in the future.

To do this, they talked to 36 patients to learn about their daily struggles, like skin changes, pain, and trouble moving. Then, they tested the draft survey questions with 25 more patients to make sure everything made perfect sense. The result is a brand-new 55-question survey called the Lee Symptom Scale-Skin Sclerosis. This new tool will help doctors understand patient pain better and find new ways to help!
