Discovery of novel 1-(4-aminophenylacetyl)piperidine derivatives as FXR partial agonists for the potential treatment of metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis.
Summary: Fatty liver disease, also known as MASH, is a growing health problem. Scientists know that a special switch in our cells called FXR can help treat it. However, medicines that turn this switch all the way on can cause severe side effects and make patients feel sick. To solve this, researchers created a new medicine called compound V15. It only turns the switch on part-way. This new drug shows great promise for healing the liver while keeping side effects to a minimum.
