Dissemination Trial of Provider Training of ACT-Enhanced Behavior Therapy for Trichotillomania: A Waitlist Controlled Study.
Summary: Trichotillomania is a condition where people feel an uncontrollable urge to pull out their hair. Even though there are good therapies to help, like ACT-enhanced behavior therapy (A-EBT), many therapists do not know how to use them. To fix this, researchers tested an online training program for 119 therapists. Half of the therapists got the training right away, and the other half waited. The group that got the training learned a lot, felt more confident, and actually started treating more patients with hair-pulling problems. This shows that teaching therapists online is a great way to help more patients get the care they need!
