Doctor Tries a Dose of Nature as Medicine
Summary: Doctors go to school for a long time to learn about the human body and how to treat sickness. But they usually do not learn about "nature-based medicine." Dr. Susan Abookire wants to change this. She created a special two-hour class for doctors and medical students to learn about the health benefits of being outside. On a cool spring day, she took 11 doctors and students from a Boston hospital across the street to a park. After rushing to finish their hospital work, they sat on the grass under big pine trees, closed their eyes, and tried forest therapy.
