Does the Immunohistotype of Breast Cancer Influence Ovarian Reserve and Fertility Preservation Outcomes? A Single-Center Prospective Observational Study.

Summary: When young women are diagnosed with breast cancer, they often worry if the treatments will make it hard to have a baby later. To protect their chances of becoming mothers, many choose to freeze their eggs before starting cancer treatment. Doctors wondered if the specific type of breast cancer changes how many healthy eggs a woman has to start with.

In this study, doctors looked at 152 women with different types of breast cancer. The good news? The type of breast cancer does not change a woman's starting egg count or how well the egg freezing process works. Women with all main types of breast cancer had the same great chances of successfully freezing healthy eggs before treatment.
