Dual-path mixture of experts for Alzheimer's diagnosis using volume and entropy MRI features.

Summary: Doctors use brain scans to check for Alzheimer's disease. Usually, they just look at the size of certain brain parts, but this can miss early signs of the sickness. Now, scientists have built a smart computer program that looks at two things at once: the size of the brain parts and the tiny, hidden details in the brain tissue (called texture or entropy). By combining these two clues, the computer is much better at spotting Alzheimer's early on. In tests, it was 93% accurate! This new tool could help doctors find and treat the disease sooner.
