Early life growth is related to pubertal growth and adult height - a QEPS-model analysis.

Summary: Did you know that how much you grow before your second birthday might determine your height as an adult more than your teenage growth spurt? A recent Swedish study analyzing 4,700 people found that growth from conception to age two is a powerhouse predictor for future stature.

Researchers discovered that early life growth explains nearly 67% of the differences in adult height, whereas the growth spurt during puberty only accounts for about 9%. Interestingly, while being a tall toddler predicts being a tall adult and having a bigger growth spurt, it doesn't influence when puberty starts. Essentially, your adult height is largely written in the first chapter of your life.
