Effectiveness of traditional Chinese medicine transdermal therapy in preventing lower limb deep vein thrombosis in chronic glomerulonephritis and uremic patients.

Summary: People with severe kidney disease often get dangerous blood clots in their legs. Doctors did a study with 100 patients to see if a special skin patch made of traditional Chinese herbs could help. Half the patients got standard care, and the other half got standard care plus the herbal skin patches placed on specific spots. After one month, the patients who used the herbal patches had fewer blood clots, less leg pain, and less swelling. Their blood tests also showed their blood was flowing better and they were less likely to form clots. The herbal patches were safe and easy to use, making them a great extra tool to keep kidney patients healthy.
