Efficacy and safety of remimazolam tosilate in elderly patients undergoing general anesthesia for bronchoscopy. A randomized controlled trial.
Summary: Going to sleep for a lung scope (bronchoscopy) can be scary, especially for older adults. Doctors wanted to see if a newer sleep medicine called remimazolam is better than the usual one, propofol. They tested 118 older patients. The results? Both medicines worked great to keep patients asleep during the test. But the newer medicine had some big perks: it caused less pain when put into the vein, didn't drop blood pressure as much, and let patients wake up much faster! This means doctors have a safe, fast, and gentle option for older patients.
