Efficacy of Consistency Versus Switching of Biologics for Prevention of Postoperative Recurrence in Crohn's Disease: A Multicenter Real-World Retrospective Study.
Summary: Imagine you have Crohn's disease and need surgery to help your gut heal. Before the surgery, you were taking special medicines called biologics. After your surgery, should you keep taking the exact same medicine, or switch to a new one?
Doctors looked at 227 patients to find the answer. They checked to see if the disease came back inside the gut within a year and a half. They found that while both choices work okay, switching to a new medicine actually did a much better job of keeping the disease away! This is great news because it gives doctors a better plan to keep patients healthy after their operation.
