Efficacy of intralesional steroid injection in head and neck hemangioma: a systematic review.
Summary: For parents of infants, a "strawberry mark" or hemangioma on the head or neck can be a source of worry, especially when it grows rapidly. A comprehensive review of medical studies covering nearly 750 babies confirms that injecting steroids directly into the birthmark is a highly effective and safe solution. This treatment successfully shrinks the tumor and improves appearance in the vast majority of cases (over 94% showing good to excellent results) with very few side effects. This makes intralesional steroid injections a top-tier option for treating these benign tumors during their active growth phase.
