Efficacy of Noninvasive Brain Stimulation Techniques in Managing Stuttering Behaviors: A Systematic Review and Meta-Regression Analysis.

Summary: Imagine you have a stutter, and talking smoothly is a daily struggle. Scientists recently looked at 15 different studies to see if a new idea could help. This idea is called "noninvasive brain stimulation," which means using safe, gentle energy on the outside of the head to help the brain work better. They found that this brain stimulation really does help reduce stuttering! The best results happened when people used a specific type of stimulation (called tDCS) at the exact same time they were doing regular speech therapy. While we still need more research to know how long the effects last, this is a very promising new way to help people who stutter speak more easily.
