Enhanced removal of microplastics using microflotation.
Summary: Tiny pieces of plastic, called microplastics, are polluting our water and harming nature. Older ways to clean water do not catch the smallest plastic pieces very well, or they force us to use harsh chemicals. Scientists have tested a new way to clean water using tiny bubbles. This method is called microflotation. The tiny bubbles grab onto the plastic pieces and float them to the top so they can be easily scooped out. It works incredibly well, catching up to 98% of the plastic without needing any extra chemicals! This could be a great, green way to make our water safe and clean again.
