Epigenetic IgE Score May Predict Childhood Respiratory Morbidity
Summary: Scientists have developed a new tool that looks at a baby's DNA and immune system to predict future health. By checking a special "epigenetic score" in infants, doctors might be able to tell if a child is likely to develop asthma or frequent wheezing as they grow up. Researchers tested this on different groups of babies, including healthy ones and those who had early lung infections. While more research is needed, this early warning system could eventually help parents and doctors prepare for and manage childhood breathing problems before the child even learns to walk!
