Extrapolating from trials to clinic: a predictive model defining the boundaries of benefit for multiple sclerosis therapies in real-world populations based on systematic review.

Summary: Doctors use special medicines to slow down Multiple Sclerosis (MS). But these medicines were originally tested only on certain types of patients. When doctors give them to everyone, they might not work and could even cause harm. Researchers looked at data from over 46,000 patients to see who really gets better. They found that starting strong medicines early works best. However, as patients get older or have had MS for a long time, the medicines stop helping and start causing more side effects. To fix this, researchers created a new online tool to help doctors pick the safest and best plan for each person.
