Fear of cancer recurrence: a systematic literature review of self-report measures.
Summary: For many cancer survivors, the hardest part of recovery isn't just the physical healing, but the nagging worry that the disease might return. This "Fear of Cancer Recurrence" (FCR) is a significant psychological burden. Researchers recently conducted a deep dive into how doctors measure this fear. After reviewing 20 different questionnaires, they found that while we have excellent, detailed tools for deep research, we are still lacking short, accurate "quick-check" surveys for everyday doctor visits. Improving these brief screening tools is the next vital step to help survivors manage the uncertainty of life after cancer.
