Fence-post-like Stereoelectroencephalography Electrode-guided Focus Resection Technique: Technical Note.

Summary: Imagine trying to weed a garden, but the ground keeps moving. That is exactly what brain surgeons face when trying to remove the exact brain tissue that causes severe seizures, because the brain naturally shifts during surgery. To fix this, doctors came up with a clever idea: they use the tiny wires (electrodes) that were already placed in the brain to find the seizures, leaving them in place to act as physical markers, just like fence posts. By cutting along this "fence," surgeons can safely and perfectly remove the bad tissue without getting lost. In a small test with four patients, it worked perfectly, stopping their seizures completely with almost no side effects!
