Flu Cases Rise Across US as Holiday Travel Fuels Spread
Summary: Flu cases are shooting up across the U.S. right now. Holiday travel and family gatherings are helping the virus spread much faster than in past years. So far, there have been over 7.5 million illnesses and 81,000 hospitalizations. Experts say a slightly mutated version of the flu bug is going around, which makes it easier to catch. Even though the current flu shot isn't a perfect match for this new mutation, doctors still strongly suggest getting vaccinated. The shot helps your body fight off the worst parts of the sickness and keeps you out of the hospital.
