From single microgels to dense microgel monolayers - investigation by atomic force microscopy.
Summary: Scientists are studying tiny, squishy particles called microgels. These particles are very useful, especially when they are used to coat surfaces. Using a super-powerful tool called an atomic force microscope, researchers looked at what happens when these microgels are squeezed tightly together in a single, flat layer. They found that squeezing them makes the microgels stiffer and more packed with material. When they are squeezed really hard, they even start to pull on the microscope's tip like a magnet! This shows that packing microgels tightly changes how they are built on the inside.
