From Townhalls to Bowling Lanes and Music: How ACG Celebrated CRC Awareness Month
Summary: March is Colorectal Cancer (CRC) Awareness Month, and the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG) went all out to spread the word! They helped plant 27,400 blue flags in Washington, D.C. These flags show how many young people might get this cancer by 2030 if we don't do more to stop it.
In Florida, Dr. Samuel Giday and State Rep. Anna Eskamani held a community town hall to talk about screening. Rep. Eskamani is a strong advocate for this cause, honoring her late mother by turning her personal loss into public action. In Virginia, Dr. Benjamin Young and his Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity brothers hosted a bowling night to raise money and share survival stories. There was even a "Tune It Up" concert! ACG is also giving out SCOPY awards to members who do creative work to promote cancer prevention.
